The effervescent Spritz cocktail has a long history that dates back to the time when Austrian soldiers in Italy during the war added a splash of water (spritz, in German) to dilute the local wines.

1. Add elderflower syrup, lemon juice, and watermelon juice to a shaker with ice.
2. Shake well and strain into a wine glass.
3. Top with Veuve du Vernay Ice Rosé.
4. Garnish with citrus peel, a slice of lemon, and a mint leaf.
