Produced in Burgundy, this elegant wine is made to achieve a harmonious freshness and complexity, making every table festive!
Veuve du Vernay was first made in the 1960s by Robert Charmat, the son of scientist Eugene Charmat who patented the Charmat Method of producing sparkling wines. Robert Charmat employed this method of trapping the carbonation from secondary fermentation to make his own sparkling wine full of fresh aromas and flavors.
Robert named his wines for a widow in Vernay who helped his father during his early winemaking days. Veuve in French means widow.
Veuve du Vernay is produced by Patriarche.
MARYLINE GIANNA, SPARKLING WINES CELLAR MASTER
Maryline Gianna, our cellar master, only has one ambition: to offer you excellence! “Our white grapes come from the most beautiful vineyards, and our base wines are carefully chosen and assembled. We then incorporate a liqueur de tirage (made of sugar, yeast, and wine), triggering the second fermentation and foam creation.” Over several months, the wine improves, gradually developing its aromas and fine, light bubbles. All along the way, Maryline Gianna ensures that our wines are of impeccable quality, guaranteeing refinement and a consistent flavor. Our quality management and assurance policy have been internationally-certified to meet the most demanding criteria for procedures, techniques, and products.
