The former Surville Enterprises, a subsidiary of Barton & Guestier France, has been renamed to BGPL USA. This renaming is a representation of the three wine houses the company imports and distributes: Barton & Guestier, Patriarche and Listel – the three parent companies of the French Castel Group.
“Our renaming to BGPL USA aims to re-establish what we do as producer and importer of the three iconic French wine houses, which the name represents,” said Carlos Varela, who was recently promoted to CEO of BGPL USA. “We plan to continue strengthening our ties in the U.S. and will be introducing more of our products to the market soon.”
In this vein, BGPL USA continues to strengthen its presence in the market as well, recently expanding its distribution relationship in California with Southern Glazers. SGWS will now be the distributor for all Veuve du Vernay wines in the state. Produced by Patriarche, Veuve du Vernay is the leading French sparkling wine brand under $20 in the United States, channeling classic Parisian lifestyle and joie de vivre.
In addition to the name change, BGPL USA has bolstered its U.S. team with the addition of three hires based in key markets.
Jessica Rutter, California Sales Manager, brings 11 years of experience to her role with a strong background in sales, marketing and business strategy for Champagne and Fine Wines.
An experienced sales representative, Benjamin Aubry, Illinois & Canada Field Manager, brings 10 years of wine industry knowledge to his position.
Lastly, Noemie Dauvissat was promoted from Pacific NW Field Sales Manager to National Marketing Manager for BGPL USA, and previously held a position as Brands and Marketing Manager for Finewines in Vietnam.
