BGPL USA Announces Innovative New Packaging for Veuve du Vernay Sparkling Ice Rosé
The New Aluminum Bottle Format Brings Practicality and Sustainability to the Bestselling Sparkling
MIAMI, FL (March 8, 2023) – BGPL USA, the U.S. importer and marketer of the renowned French wine houses Barton & Guestier, Patriarche – producer of Veuve du Vernay – and Listel has unveiled a new aluminum packaging for the 250ml format of Veuve du Vernay Ice Rosé. Recently making a successful debut at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival (SOBEWFF), the new container for the #1 selling sparkling wine under $20 in the U.S. meets the demand for sustainability in the wine industry and is the ideal format for individual consumption. Consumers can find the aluminum 250ml format of Veuve du Vernay Sparkling Ice Rosé available in select retailers with a suggested retail price of $5.99.
The 250ml aluminum bottle, adorned in the Veuve du Vernay signature pink hue, features an easy-to-open pull-ring cap allowing for more relaxed and informal consumption compared to the traditional muselet seen commonly on sparkling wines. The aluminum packaging presents several benefits to the consumer, including faster cooling time, durability to prevent bottle breakage, and chill retention to keep the wine cooler longer. These elements make it ideal to enjoy the product outdoors with friends at a picnic, poolside, at the beach or music festivals. The shimmering label encapsulates the full bottle, featuring the bubbly Eiffel Tower seen across Veuve du Vernay’s Ice collection.
“BGPL USA is excited to bring this new format of Veuve du Vernay Ice Rosé to the US market. We want to surprise our consumers with innovative launches while keeping the consistent quality they’ve come to expect from the Veuve du Vernay collection,” says Carlos Varela, CEO of BGPL USA. “Sustainability is a big part of our core values, and we share the same sentiment as our consumers in seeking innovative, eco-friendly solutions that reduce our carbon footprint. Research shows that recycling 1T of aluminum allows for 96% energy saving compared to glass, which allows for only 26.5% of energy savings. Our aluminum wine bottles make recycling easier by encouraging consumers to Vive la Vie or ‘Live Life’ while being eco-conscious.”
Veuve du Vernay Ice Rosé, developed by female winemaker Maryline Gianna, is produced and bottled in France and made with premium grapes, including pinot noir, syrah, and cinsault. The wine is light pink in color with purple reflections. With fine effervescence, the generous foam has plentiful bubbles resembling light beads, a symbol of celebration. On the nose, the wine shows fresh and fruity scents with zesty raspberry aromas. With a well-balanced and full palate, the beautiful rosé’s taste matches its fruity aromas. Tangy notes on the finish give a pleasant freshness. The sparkling wine should be served cold on its own or poured over ice.
According to January sales reports from Nielsen, Veuve du Vernay Ice Rosé is the #1 selling French sparkling UPC (non-Champagne) below $20 with a $5.3M value. The Veuve du Vernay brand shows no signs of stopping, as data identified a 15% increase in sales nationally. The launch of the new aluminum format will provide consumers with a convenient and stylish alternative to the 750ml bottles. Consumers can find Veuve du Vernay at select retailers including Total Wine & More, Publix, and more, through https://bgpl-usa.com/store-locator.
